The quote in my local newspaper is the same as shown here, but the decryption code letters do not produce the correct answer. The code letters in the paper are:
AXYDLBAAXR
LONGFELLOW
In fact, the quotes in the paper for the past several weeks have use the same code letters.
I suppose I should contact the paper, Columbus Dispatch. I assume they get the puzzles from some outside source, so they will most likely not be able to help.

Hi Phillip! The “decryption code letters” that you speak of are not part of the game. The whole paragraph above each game serves as directions on how to solve a cipher puzzle. AXYDLBAAXR = LONGFELLOW is used as an example. The Cryptoquote actually doesn’t offer a clue to get you started. Some newspapers print a game called Cryptoquip which does offer one clue daily.
